Plan de gestion des pestes, des produits et des déchets dangereux (PGPPDD)

In view of the importance of pastoralism in the socio-economic life of pastoral populations, within the framework of the “Initiative
in favor of the Sahel”, the World Bank Group has been committed since November 2013 to provide support funding for the
development of pastoral activities in the six countries of the Sahelo-Saharan strip where the security situation has become a
source of serious concern. Thus was born the PRAPS 1 with the objective of « Improving access to essential means and
production services and markets for pastoralists and agro-pastoralists in cross-border areas and along transhumance axes
and improving the country’s capacity to respond in time and effectively in the event of pastoral crises or emergencies ”. This
project constitutes phase 2 of the PRAPS and the development objective of the proposed project is « to improve the resilience
of pastoralists and agro-pastoralists in certain areas of the region, and to strengthen the capacities of countries to respond
quickly and effectively to crises or pastoral emergencies ”.
Prepared jointly with the other instruments required by the Environmental and Social Mamagement Framework (ESMF), the
development of this PGPPDD was carried out according to a classic methodology combining documentary review with field
investigations and the processing / analysis of the information collected.
